We provide challenge course training to camp staff, outdoor education teachers and instructors, adventure therapists, and other challenge course practitioners in a wide variety of settings.
Training
Our comprehensive training integrates sound principles, foundational concepts, and hands-on practice to ensure your staff can manage risk, create meaningful program experiences, and respond effectively in an emergency. Our curriculum reflects the latest research, standards, regulations, equipment, and techniques. Following training, it may be prudent to verify the skills of your staff members.
Certification
Adventureworks is accredited to offer certification to ACCT Standards. Certification is a comprehensive testing process that follows training and verifies that an individual’s knowledge and skills meet the current industry standard.
Adventureworks Associates Inc. is an accredited Professional Vendor Member (PVM) of the Association for Challenge Course Technology for installation, inspection, training, and certification.

Assistant Ropes Course Instructor
Level One Challenge Course Practitioner
Start from scratch. Learn to belay, use instructor access, facilitate adventure programs, and supervise participants.
This 40 hour entry level certification teaches the technical, facilitation, and safety management skills required to lead low and high ropes programs. Course candidates explore adventure-based facilitation, standards, and effective operating procedures as they develop the safe attitude, skills, and knowledge that enable them to work on a ropes course.

This 20 hour entry level certification teaches the technical, facilitation, and safety management skills required to lead low ropes programs. Course candidates explore adventure-based facilitation, standards, and effective operating procedures as they develop the safe attitude, skills, and knowledge that enable them to work on a low ropes course.
Ropes Course Instructor
Level Two Challenge Course Practitioner
Build on the basics. Learn rescue skills and protocols, specialized elements, advanced facilitation, and the basics of ropes course accessibility.
Individuals in this 40 hour instructor-level course learn skills that enhance their ability to create innovative programs, solve problems in ropes course environments, prepare for emergency situations, and manage a ropes course. Specifically, instructor candidates will develop advanced leadership and facilitation skills, practice advanced knots, belaying, and descending techniques, develop problem solving skills, carry out management systems, and learn and practice the Ropes Course Rescue Protocol System. Course content will be covered through a combination of classroom presentations, hands-on practice, and rescue simulations.

Building on the skills built in the Low Ropes Facilitator, this 20 hour course looks at using Low Ropes to build effective programs, and target specific learning outcomes, as well as advanced techniques for processing and debriefing.
Challenge Course and Climbing Program Management
Challenge Course Manager
Manage your Adventure Program. Learn the skills to support your program and facility, supervise staff, and build effective policies.
The 30 hour Challenge Course and Climbing Program Management training course is designed to help senior adventure program instructors and program directors manage their ropes course and climbing programs (tower, wall, or cliff) more effectively. This training will enhance your ability to deliver safe and effective adventure programs by increasing your understanding of standards, current research and testing, emergency preparedness and program assessment. The workshop’s experiential approach enables leadership teams to refine their ropes course and climbing program management systems and hone their critical incident response plan.
