Experience climbing in a natural setting.
Our Outdoor Rock climbing programs leverage the benefits of climbing to create lasting change for groups and individuals. Participants are encouraged to set and achieve goals in a supportive environment. Rock Climbing teaches skills in decision making, problem solving, and trustworthiness.
Outdoor Rock Climbing programs are available for school groups, youth organizations, university climbing clubs, and summer camps. We are also available to guide small family groups who want to experience an outdoor climbing experience.
Outdoor Rock Climbing programs make use of the Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area on the Niagara Escarpment in Milton, ON. Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area offers over 200 well developed climbing routes for participants with a wide range of abilities.
The Niagara Escarpment
The Niagara Escarpment is designated a World Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Participants come face-to-face with centuries old cedar trees, and aquatic fossils dating back over 400 million years, as they look out over the glacial landscape of the Halton region.
OPHEA Guidelines
OPHEA Guidelines permit Outdoor Rock Climbing for Grade 6 & up.
All Adventureworks programs are delivered by our team of professional facilitators, and certified challenge course instructors. Programs meet or exceed OPHEA guidelines and ACCT standards.
Outdoor Rock Climbing
Get hands on with the Niagara Escarpment.
Rock climbing is a powerful activity for goal setting, and seeing through commitments, and serves as a catalyst for lasting personal growth and development. Outdoor Rock Climbing is a unique experience that physically and mentally challenges participants in exciting and new ways that an indoor gym just can't match.
Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area offers over 200 well developed climbing routes. We use our experience with the cliff to select a range of climbs that provide an adventure for each participant, from absolute beginners to experienced climbers.
Rappelling
Make a commitment and step over the edge.
Rappelling (or abseiling) involves descending the cliff along a fixed line with participants in control. From the very first move over the edge of the cliff to standing at the based of the rock face, rappelling is about committing to your actions and following through.
The geography and facilities of Rattlesnake Point provide an easy ascent on foot from the base to the top of the cliff. This allows participants ample opportunity for multiple descents on a variety of routes.
Multi-Day Programs
Extend the experience - Climb, Camp, & Rappel.
Our Multi-Day Rock Climbing programs give participants the opportunity to both climb and rappel. Our multi-day programs allow participants to develop skills over a couple days. Contact us for custom climbing programs.
From May through October during non-COVID times, groups are able to bring their own equipment and camp out overnight at the Group Camp Sites at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area.
Group camping arrangements can be made by contacting the site directly or we can give you hand. Information on camping can be found at www.conservationhalton.ca/camping
