General
Advanced Level Courses include Challenge Course Practitioner Level 2, Ropes Course and Climbing Program Management, and all re-certification courses. Each advanced level course has pre-requisites which always include:
Minimum age
Previous certification (does not need to be current)
Minimum number of hours of experience leading challenge course/climbing programs
Please check the specific course description to determine the pre-requisites.
Challenging In
In some limited cases “challenging in” is permitted when a candidate has the requisite hours of experience and training, but lacks formal certification. In such cases the candidate must show evidence of experience by completing an advanced application (see below). We will review your application package to assess your eligibility. We will provide one of the following responses:
Waive Level One and be registered for the Level 2 training.
Require you to write the Level One Practical Skills Assessment and Written Test.
Require you to take the full Level One training and certification.

Advanced level courses and require approval for registration. Please complete the following steps to determine whether you are eligible.
Complete the online Advanced Course Application Form and complete and submit your Challenge Course Portfolio.

Applications take 1-2 weeks to review depending on time of year, as our staff spend much of their time in the field.
