Our professional training services provide you with the expertise for successful challenge course program leadership. Courses can be offered to your staff at your site, or as open enrolment courses through our training centres.

Low Ropes

  • Low Ropes Facilitator (Level 1 - Spotted Only Certification)
    This 20 hour entry level certification teaches the technical, facilitation, and safety management skills required to lead low ropes programs. Course candidates explore adventure-based facilitation, standards, and effective operating procedures as they develop the safe attitude, skills, and knowledge that enable them to work on a low ropes course.

  • Low Ropes Facilitator II (Level 2 - Spotted Only Certification)
    Building on the skills built in the Low Ropes Facilitator, this 20 hour course looks at using Low Ropes to build effective programs, and target specific learning outcomes, as well as advanced techniques for processing and debriefing.

High & Low Ropes Training (Full Courses)

  • Assistant Ropes Course Instructor (Level 1 - Full Certification)
    This 40 hour entry level certification teaches the technical, facilitation, and safety management skills required to lead low and high ropes programs. Course candidates explore adventure-based facilitation, standards, and effective operating procedures as they develop the safe attitude, skills, and knowledge that enable them to work on a ropes course.

  • Ropes Course Instructor (Level 2 - Full Certification)
    Individuals in this 40 hour instructor-level course learn skills that enhance their ability to create innovative programs, solve problems in ropes course environments, prepare for emergency situations, and manage a ropes course. Specifically, instructor candidates will develop advanced leadership and facilitation skills, practice advanced knots, belaying, and descending techniques, develop problem solving skills, carry out management systems, and learn and practice the Ropes Course Rescue Protocol System. Course content will be covered through a combination of classroom presentations, hands-on practice, and rescue simulations.

Challenge Course and Climbing Program Management

  • Challenge Course and Climbing Program Manager Training
    The 30 hour Challenge Course and Climbing Program Management training course is designed to help senior adventure program instructors and program directors manage their ropes course and climbing programs (tower, wall, or cliff) more effectively. This training will enhance your ability to deliver safe and effective adventure programs by increasing your understanding of standards, current research and testing, emergency preparedness and program assessment. The workshop’s experiential approach enables leadership teams to refine their ropes course and climbing program management systems and hone their critical incident response plan. Can lead to certification at Challenge Course Manager level, or be an audit-only course for those not meeting pre-requisites.

  • Certification (CM)
    Certification is available with the Challenge Course and Climbing Program Management Training. Successful candidates who meet pre-requisites may obtain certification.
